Merry Misfit ADHD Body Doubling
To Rise, We Lift Each Other — Masks Not Required.
Group body doubling (aka co-working) sessions — real presence, real structure, zero performance, zero masking. Show up, work on whatever you need to work on, and borrow some momentum from a room full of people whose brains work like yours.

Real Talk: WTF is ADHD?
Here's the truth: "Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder" is kind of a terrible name. It makes it sound like the problem is not paying attention or having too much energy. That's not really it.Current research points to two things at the actual core: executive function and emotional dysregulation.Executive function is the brain's management system — planning, prioritizing, starting tasks, switching between them, and following through on things you already decided to do. When that system runs differently, "just pay attention" or "just focus" isn't advice, it's noise. The other core piece: emotional responses that show up fast and hit hard — frustration, overwhelm, rejection sensitivity. Research increasingly treats this as central to ADHD, not a side effect of it.So when someone says "I know what I need to do, I just can't make myself start" — that's executive function. And when a small thing sets off a big reaction — that's dysregulation, not overreacting. Both are real, and neither one means something's wrong with you as a person. There's a third piece that doesn't get talked about enough: masking. That's the constant, exhausting work of hiding ADHD traits so you look "normal" — forcing eye contact, suppressing stimming, rehearsing responses, performing calm when you're not. Masking isn't free. It burns the same limited executive function and emotional energy you need for everything else — which means the more you mask, the less you have left for the actual task in front of you. That's why body doubling actually works: it gives your executive function external scaffolding it's not generating on its own, and it lowers the emotional load of doing something hard — because you're not doing it alone. It's also why we mean it when we say masks not required — this is one of the only spaces where you can just be visibly, unpolished-ly working, without spending energy performing that you're okay.
What’s a “Body Doubling Session”?
Body doubling is simple: you sit down to work with someone else present — and suddenly the task you’ve been avoiding feels lighter. Together, we create focus, accountability, and momentum. It’s not just about getting things done — it’s about not doing life alone.Whether you need to:• Write a chapter of your book• Tackle your taxes or finish paperwork• Prep for a presentation or school project• Clean your room or fold the laundry• Open that stack of snail mail• Clear out your inbox or organize digital files• Or finally start the project that’s been haunting youBig or small…you don’t have to push through by yourself. When we show up together, distractions shrink, progress feels possible, and even the hardest tasks feel lighter.Because here’s our truth: we thrive when we lift each other up. And you don't have to mask to do it — this is one of the few spaces where you don't have to perform "fine" for anyone.
ADHD Virtual Body Doubling
who's this for?
This is for you if…• You’re an ADHDer, neurodivergent, or just plain human who gets stuck at the starting line.• You’ve got big goals — like writing your book, finishing a project, or prepping for a big presentation — but you can’t seem to get traction alone.• You’re weighed down by everyday life stuff — taxes, bills, laundry, unopened mail, or that messy inbox — and wish it didn’t feel so heavy.• You know you work better when someone’s “in it” with you, even virtually.• You’re ready to stop white-knuckling it alone and start thriving in community.Because here’s the truth: we don’t rise by willpower, we rise by lifting each other up. And around here? No one gets left behind.
ADHD Virtual Body Doubling
How it Works
Each session runs 1 hour. The room opens 5 minutes early for informal check-in. At the start, everyone shares what they're working on — camera, chat, or just showing up is all fine. One quick check-in around the halfway mark. A short close at the end.Come and go as you need. Participate as much or as little as feels right.
Weekly schedule
Note: all times are Arizona time. We skipped Daylight Saving because we're too ADHD to remember to change the clocks twice a year — so if you're in a DST state, do the math.
